  1. Domain name

    Keep it simple. Keep your domain name focused on your company name or product with an easy-to-spell URL. Being clever with your URL can work for remaining top of mind, but be careful not to complicate it. Make sure your name isn’t associated with another service you might not want to be associated with and that it is available as a domain.


  2. Good foundation

    Your website can have the best content, but it needs to be maintained by a proper website host and good tech support if you want to rectify any glitches or poor user experience. Read up on a virtual private server; it’s the preferred server option for a small business regarding digital safety, security and performance.


  3. Get to the Point

    Your homepage is your business card, and it needs to speak loudly with visuals and copy that tells the reader exactly what your product is and why they should continue browsing your site. Ensure you also have an About Us section where you can share more personal info about your brand to establish customer relations and loyalty.


  4. Management

    The best way to be in charge of your content, website design, uploads, and interface, is to do the maintenance and uploads yourself via a content management system such as WordPress, Joomla! or Wix.

    Selling a product, and not just having a blog or entertainment platform, will drive more clicks to your brand, and it is important to choose the best web-to-shop platform that is in line with what your audience prefers and what works for your business, such as WooCommerce.


  6. SEO and User Experience

    Make sure your website is user-friendly and interesting by regularly updating it with new content. Ensure that it has a fast loading speed, is mobile-friendly and that it has keywords incorporated that your audience would search for on an engine.
