How Princess Bazaar used a Google Ads campaign to grow its conversion value by over 400% in five months 

Princes Bazaar is a fashion boutique with an online store and a physical store in Morpeth. Princess Bazaar sells a range of one-off and limited items from well known contemporary brands and niche specialist brands from all over the world. They are all handpicked by the business owner, with each garment being chosen based on its unique bohemian style and sustainability.

Wood Tamer is a specialty store selling a range of high quality green wood and spoon carving tools. The store sells a range bespoke & custom made tools as well as their range of stocked items. Wood Tamer is an Australian business built by a carver for carvers & offers Australia's best range of locally made wood carving tools and sharpeners.

Why they chose RankingCo

When we began working with Wood Tamers, Lauren & Chris were wanted more comprehensive tracking as they knew there was more information they could be getting about their business that they were missing. Their previous agency had only set up website transaction tracking, and the client was interested in finding out more about their sales funnel and exploring remarketing and detailed targeting. Their manual shopping campaign which had been doing ok had experienced a significant dip which they were struggling to recover from. In our initial assessments of their account we noticed that there was a lot of opportunity with the shopping campaign product categories. Wood Tamers had been running for a couple of years and had experienced some growth however they were looking for a partner to help them grow even further.

By the time Princess Bazaar came on board with RankingCo, they had been with three separate digital marketing agencies over the space of 12 months. Lisa’s prior experiences had been marred by poor results and poor communication. She wanted a team who would take the time to understand her business and take the reins in implementing the best digital marketing strategy for Princess Bazaar. She had the goal of growing her business over the next 12-18 months with campaigns that focused on both getting new customers and remarketing to both new and existing customers. For this, she needed a company that was able to communicate with her to get an understanding of the business and the implementation of the right marketing strategies.

What strategies made the difference 

After onboarding with RankingCo, we went about dealing with some of the issues that had faced Princess Bazaar. They had a goal of a 20% increase in sales across the website, and their products were in high demand. Lisa also had the benefit of being able to ship Australia wide and a local store for customers who wanted to try clothes on instore. However,  their current campaign wasn't hitting the peak it could. The first difficulty faced was that they had limited stock due to delays, which was impeding on what could be advertised.

 

Rather than settling for poor results until this resolved, we went about creating a campaign that would minimise wasted ad spend. The original campaign was  a basic shopping campaign, that was not optimised at a product level, and had no audience targeting. We changed Princess Bazaar to a smart shopping campaign and targeting relevant audiences. This allowed us to reduce waste and quickly increase the opportunity for revenue without budget adjustments. We also optimised ad assets and ad copy to ensure that best industry practices were implemented and Princess Bazaar was being presented to its audience in the best light. This strategy was effective in reducing waste and increasing new audience reach.

One of the biggest changes was restructuring the campaigns based on our knowledge of Google optimisations from branded campaigns to category campaigns. This resulted in significantly optimised ad spend and greater efficiency. Through this and our targeted campaigns, we were able to easily increase her online sales and deliver this at a lower CPC (Cost Per Click).

For the campaign we also optimised the ad assets and ad copy. This was so we could access their target audience easier and reduce wasted clicks that would not equate to conversions. We knew we could gain a far reaching audience of new customers that were interested in quality boutique fashion.

One of the biggest implementations was creating campaigns that marketed the general range of clothing rather than individual brands, which allowed us to save Princess Bazaar a massive amount of ad spend. Through this and our targeted campaigns, we were able to easily increase her online sales and deliver this at a lower CPC (Cost Per Click).

Our Results

The team at RankingCo has been proud to deliver exceptional results for Wood Tamers from the very beginning of our partnership. After creating the Performance Max campaign, overall cost decreased by 8.17% and cost per click reduced by 5.18%. While cost reduction wasn't an explicit goal of Wood Tamers, this indicates a reduction in waste and improved efficiency. Alongside these savings, we were able to increase conversions 197% and improve conversion value by 260%. With this improvement in both the number of conversions and the average value of each conversion, we were able to significantly contribute to Wood Tamer's growth business goal and create a sustainable foundation upon which they can continue to expand their business.

What result we achieved

Even with the early struggles that Princess Bazaar experienced with stock, it didn't stop us from achieving great results. Between January 2022 - May 2022 we doubled their month on month conversion rate every month. We were able to do this while reducing their wasted clicks by 20% and reducing their overall ads spend. This resulted in an overall growth in conversion value of over 400% compared to when they first came onboard. The Shopping campaign has been instrumental in the growth of Princess Bazaar, gaining them access to an audience who are regularly searching for their products. This has resulted in their ROAS (return on ad spend) being over 100,000%.
